Al Gore invented Global Warming
...too bad it's not as useful as the internet. By the way, I never thanked you for that Albert. This post is not about Al Gore. From here on out.
I almost cried for that guy. But I kept laughing instead.
Last night was straight-up dope. I joined the 10-midnight set in the House of Prayer for the 40 Day Fast, and it was crazy. I was playing the guitar, and then Patrick gets on the Djembe, and then Luke gets on the Bass, William starts on the Drums, Rhonda and Monica start singing, and we just hammered it out before The Lord. We reminded God about the promises He made. We bugged him about revival. The set is right after the rumble and right before night-watch. And we are having rumbles every night of the week now. If you get a chance to come down here for a couple days, it will change your life forever. We'll be here in Fort Mill until around the 15th, and then they move the camp to Nashville until TheCall on 07/07/07. I'm not sure if Heather, Zay and I will be traveling to Nashville at the same time as the rest of the team though. I might have to stay in the office and then go out to Tennessee closer to 7/7/07. We'll see.Zay pooped on the toilet again today, and Heather said that she saw a piece of newspaper.
I'm asking for a Video Camera. I'm praying and fasting for the equipment and supplies I need in order to propel a culture of life into the media and arts. I'm also believing God for a unique style, a trademark that reflects Him. Something that will stand out in the world and bring people's attention to God whether they know it or not. I just got asked to do a promo video for ZHOP, Zadok House of Prayer, up the road, and I'm really excited about that. They are so artistic and open to the creativity of God that they are constantly on the cutting edge of the worship and arts. They don't have a strong visual media team, so I'm going to help them out and show them what they need to launch a dynamic media presence. I did see the draft of their new website though, and it looks really good.
Speaking of new websites, what do you think of the new orangestickman dot com? does everything work out ok for everyone?
Excuse me while I de-tox.

run time
Last night was incredible. Shawn Bolz and Jesse Engle and John Mark McMillan all talked about exactly what's been in my heart and in my head for years. They were talking about a coming media and arts renaissance and how God is going to take the authority off of the influential people in the world and place it back onto the church where it belongs. The church just needs to get ready for a new sound, a new look, a new attitude. The problem with adopting a new feel is that it's new, it's never been seen, never been heard, and it will be a little weird. But it's time for the church to stop saying, "That's too different, we'll pass", and start grabbing hold of the inspiration of God that the world is stealing. We have to not let our religion get in the way of our passion. I'm going to start a grassroots visual arts company called Organic Visual, and I'm going to trust that God will provide the resources, opportunities, and the money to grow into a national soapbox for His glory.
That's what this whole summer is about. We are going to take the battle cry that God gives us on 07-07-07 in Nashville and we are going to spread it all across the nation. The Summer of Love in 1967 was an infestation of an idea, a mindset, a sound, and a culture. The church missed it's opportunity in 67. The church could have adapted, as Jesus would have adapted, and met that generation where they were. The cry for reality and for individuality and for love that was so loud in the '60s is the same voice that is saturating today's culture. The church cannot afford to ignore and shun the generation that wants to know what real, healthy love is. God wants to impart a culture of love and life, and we know that it's stronger than death and the cheap love that the enemy promotes, so why are we so hesitant? Why should we be scared of revolution? America can turn back to God.We need money. We are chasing after this dream with everything we've got, and it's not much. We are selling all of our vehicles and a lot of our stuff in order to hit the road this summer, and then we have no idea what God has for us this fall. We need a camper, a truck and trailer, or even just a nice tent that Heather and Baby can sleep in. I need a new camera and computer software for my visual arts company, and we need to eat and keep Zay healthy. I don't know where the money is going to come from, but I'm not worried about it. God moves the hearts of people who have money, and God owns that camper, God owns our next house, God owns that media equipment, God owns the light kit, God owns the Theatre, God owns all the things He has given us so far, and that's why He's given us these dreams. He has it all planned out, we just can't miss it. If you want to help fund the movement, you can donate online, or e-mail me to get our mailing address.
Come with us this summer. $400 gives you food, camp site, travel, and access to the front lines of the Jesus Movement that will shift culture and bring in the harvest. If you can't come, you can donate to TheCause on their website to help sponsor someone to go to California.

It feels like a while since I've posted. Or maybe I've just been busy.I only have time to blog now because the video is rendering on the other computer, so I'm saving this entry as I go and switching between computers when one is working. Oh, the multi-tasking life.
I now have 5 monitors on 3 computers in my office. The best part: They are all Macintosh.
Isaiah is a morning person. If you know me, then you know that he gets that from his mother. He's such a happy kid in the mornings. We usually wrestle right before a shower, just to work up a stink. He pooped on the toilet. He had no idea what was going on, or why we were holding him above an ivory bucket of water and not letting him play in it, but he pooped like a big boy.I was able to get another computer for the house. It's an iMac, and so you'll probably see Heather online more often now. :)
Get this, $400 for food, camp site, and travel from Nashville to San Fransisco. July 8th - August 11th. Go here: TheCauseUSA.com The only other cost would be a plane ticket from San Fran back home and spending money if you wanted to buy a t-shirt in Wichita. That's what Heather, Zay and I are doing this summer after TheCall. Well, we might not get the t-shirt, but I will be documenting the trip with the help of Paul E. and Jerry C. Laci H. is coming too, and I believe a lot of the Life Ministries crew. Hooray for people from home!
California here we come, right back where we started from.
Speaking of Life Ministries, amazing things have been happening through fasting and prayer. One day this past week, the entire staff of a major clinic in Norfolk just didn't show up. Women were there to have abortions, but there was no one there to kill their babies. That has never happened. ENTIRE STAFF just doesn't show up on a normal business day. Especially when there are multiple appointments. God is on the move.
I used to have this really shallow view of revival. I think it spawned from being overly critical and faithless when I saw what looked like revival. Being down here has really made me realize, and allowed God to show me, what revival is. When someone is drowning in a pool and the Life Guard yanks them out of the water, they have to be revived. God loves to pull us out of the religion that we are drowning in and put life back in us. He wants us to breathe. He wouldn't want us to suffocate in the traditions that we have built. When Jesus was here he told the Pharisees that He didn't dig all the junk they had layered on top of the Word. God wants to revive us continually. We can't have a "Revival Service", or schedule a revival, but you can definitely feel one coming.
Today's video is something that I actually helped work on. It's the promo video for TheCall. I started editing this and then I moved on to other projects and so we handed it off to an amazing animator, and he totally revolutionized the thing. Enjoy.

Fallbrook from the 270's ->
The lights in my office broke, so I'm working by the light of the computer screens. That's not too bad considering I have a minimum of 3 on at all times. It's like a little cave.Speaking of little caves, You should come down to Fort Mill this weekend. It's walking distance, if you have the time. We are having a Prayercast for TheCall and God's Summer of Love OFFICAL LAUNCH this weekend at MorningStar. On Memorial Day we will be having a BBQ and spray painting cars like hippies. Well, if hippies had BBQs that is. We'll find you a place to sleep, or you can just stay on our living room floor.
Craig is really good at digging up cool stuff on the interweb. Almost as good as Beef and Jared. check this out. The best accapella I've ever heard.
I just got Viva Piñata for Xbox360, and it's strangly addicting. It's rated E for Everyone for "Comic Mischief" and "Mild Cartoon Violence". It's kinda like The Sims but with Piñatas. I'm in charge of a garden that I have to take care of and nurture, and then it attracts Piñatas. If they like it, they'll stay, and then I get to name them, build houses for them and let them "Romance". The "Romance Dance" is my favorite part. It's totally geared toward a younger audience, but I love it. I think I just like to name they little guys. I have Winchester, Clementine, John Lennon... I don't know what to name the little mouse-like creatures, so if you have any ideas, let me know.
The Office Finale was last week and it provided just enough closure, and just the right amount of anticipation for next season. I really like that show, but it's becoming more and more crass and riddled with sexual humor, it's kinda sad. They keep pushing the edge, and stepping over the line.
Which gets me talking about MySpace. What happened there? I apologize to anyone who has visited my MySpace page and seen those comments that someone left. The crazy thing about people getting your MySpace password and cracking into your account is that it doesn't just affect you, in fact, a lot of times you don't even know it's happening, it affects all your friends. Or, should I say, everyone on your friends list. I love it when I first sign up for a social network web page one of the first things it tells you is, "You have 0 friends." Thanks a lot. So anyway, I am moderating all my comments on my MySpace page, which is kind of a bummer because I'm rarely on it, so I'll rarely approve, so people will rarely comment.Slumby Bum Trandoshan Gut Pit Slime Bum
It's hard to gauge how many people read this. For a while after I got married and had a kid, I didn't really update this that often, once every other month at best, but now I'm trying to update a couple times a week at least, so I know I lost a lot of people during that period of drought. But I'm back, and so is Heather. You can read her blog here or by clicking on Heather in the navigation bar.
Today's Video is something I found on YouTube:
When you try to spell-check Trandoshan, it wants to replace it with Brandishing.
and with that, I say good day to you.

The last couple days have been a whirlwind in the office. I handed over production of TheCall promo video to Ryan Bomberger who did an AMAZING job editing and applying motion graphics. It's rough though because people will call me up and be like, "Great job on the video bro!" but I don't feel like I can take credit because Ryan took such a revolutionary new approach and gave it the energy that it lacked. So it's like a new animal, but it's a freakin' sweet animal.Since handing the project off, I've been working on God's Summer of Love Tour material. I was tasked with coming up with a 30 second spot promoting the Summer of Love "Official Launch" at Morningstar on May27, but then they said, "No, scratch the video, let's do a bulletin insert instead." So I crack open Photoshop, and start designing something, and then they come back and say, "Ok, we can do a video as well." Not today Zurg. With the deadline only 1 hour away, and me just starting on the insert, I wasn't about to say yes. Besides, I thought I got away from that. :) Anyway, I got the design done just in time to send to the printers to get it in this week's announcements. And you can see it online as well at thecauseusa.com
Our little man isn't feeling well. All last night he was coughing and he was sneezing a lot this morning. He doesn't quite know what's going on with his body, and it's kinda funny seeing him react to snot and coughs. Heather has been letting him taste our food a little lately as well. We gave him some watermelon, but he's not sure what he thinks about it. He wants it because we have it, but once he gets it, he has second thoughts. Of course, he quickly forgets about any of that once he doesn't have it... and then he wants it all over again. He's also trying really hard to figure out what this whole gravity thing is. He will scoot from the middle of the bed all the way to the front door. The only problem is that there is a foot and a half drop somewhere in between. Oh, and "Cause and Effect" has him completely baffled. He will grab a sealed freezy pop, start fussing because it's cold, but he won't let go of it. He'll try to suck on the leg of my metal office chair and when he hits himself on the mouth, he'll cry, but he'll try it again right away. He gets all of that from his father no doubt.
I'm going to try to insert a video into each one of my posts from now on. I've done two music videos along with the last two posts, but I'm not going to segregate them anymore... They are now a part of the tribe.
I don't watch TV, but I'll watch TV shows sometimes. I love the fact that I can download shows I WANT to watch. Tonight, we just finished up this season of The Office. It's fun, and almost scary how I can get attached to fictional characters who are pretending to be real people. It inspires me to produce something that captures the imagination and holds people's attention long enough to point them to God. It's really an art.
I really like the TV show Scrubs. Sometimes it's inappropriate and irreverent, but I really enjoy the huskjdf slkj 'lkjsd fkjdf dsfkjh kdjhksudn dekfh d - Sorry about that... Heather just came over here and kissed me. Where was I? Oh yes, Scrubs. The humor in Scrubs is, in my mind, the perfect pace. My friend and co-worker Craig showed me this clip a little while ago. Think what you may, to me, it's brilliant considering it's a secular show with a very liberal cultural view.
bravo Jesus.
I sent out an e-mail to a bunch of people from back home in VA, but there are so many e-mail addresses that I either don't have, or I have wrong. In the e-mail I said that I didn't like to send mass e-mails, but instead give the invitation to come here. So, if you like what you read, or if you think someone else will like what you read, then please, by all means, pass this along.

redbull, that is.So I'm getting amped for the Summer of Love tour that we're doing this... Summer. I'm right now going through a bunch of archive footage from 1967 and mixing it with some intense hip-hop and psychedelic graphics. It's going to be sweet.
Isaiah is scooting like a sneaky monkey nowadays. He thinks that if he can see something, he can grab it, and if he can grab it, then it must taste good. So we're trying to teach him what NO means. Poor guy is too big for his body. And he's hyper enough to be twins. I have an old Dell Laptop that doesn't really work, so we lay that on the floor and he gets his work done on that. He has a bunch of toys, but that doesn't matter to him if Ma and Da are not playing with them. He wants what we have in our hands at the time. Or in my case, whatever I'm typing on.Zay really likes to play the Djembe with me, and he trys really hard to play the guitar with me too. He and I are taking showers together too, but it's like trying to hang on to a greased pig. Poor guy doesn't really understand gravity yet, but after a few times crawling off the bed, he'll get it.
So my family came and visited, left, went to pick up Reigner from Sississmippi, and then visited again on the way back. Alex Cage came with them of course, and we all had a good mothers day. Chinese food, fruit stand, Music and Lyrics, XBox, Bonfire, Bagel Chips and Sangria for the win. Reigner also brought back the other Bimmer, so now I've got two BMWs, one Volkswagen and a bike with a flat tire.
Heather, in all of her amazing beauty, is going to be modeling wedding dresses for a designer who knows my boss. Andy McMillan is going to be taking her pictures, and I believe we get to keep copies. She's really excited about getting to wear wedding dresses and act like a bride. It's funny because she's been looking at wedding dress models online, and it's fun to imagine Heather with this really serious, intense glamour pose, looking like a female Zoolander.
Please pray for us. It's payday today and I've already spend all of our money on rent and bills. I only get paid once a month. God is my daddy, so naturally He wants to take care of me. He loves me.

My family, sans J, Beef and Tom, are visiting this weekend on their way to pick up Ner from Sississmippi. They are gone today, but they are coming back with Reigner tomorrow. Of course Alex came with them. We watched Mystery Science Theater 3000 last night. Good times. Great Oldies. We have been talking about Dinner Theatre stuff. We're making plans, coming up with ideas. Big dreams man, dreams that have been in my family for years and years. They are actually happening. "Your old men will dream dreams..." Pray for the Bethune Family. We need money, a building, equipment, ideas, support... Virginia needs it.
It's kinda funny that we have company again so soon because last week Hannah stayed with us, and then a few people from KPC came down for the MorningStar Conference and when they left, they took Rachel's keys with them. <-- That sentence was too long, I'm sorry. So one of the cars was stuck here, and they stayed with us. Alas, we got to keep Hannah an extra couple days.So I called the police the night before last. At about midnight:30 Melody told me that heard something outside her window. So I grab the Katana, naturally, and turn on the porch light, walk outside, and "Hark!" there is a creepy guy standing right outside the girl's bedroom window trying to look in. I said, "Hey man, what's up?" in the most intimidating way possible while pulling the sword out of the sheath. He turns and takes off running as fast has he could. So I filed a police report and I haven't slept well since. There was definitely something demonic about him.
I've been listening to Pandora Internet Radio lately. It's awesome. I have almost complete control of what I'm listening to. It's very well done. I've also been using del.icio.us and Digg a lot lately. It's addicting man.
The Summer of REAL Love is coming dude. Get ready. Come to TheCall.
